FRIDAYS

magical selves, colorful worlds!

with rosie

Ages: 2nd - 5th Graders

Class Time: 3:15-5:15pm

Dates: 9/8/23-12/22/23*

*No class 11/24 for Thanksgiving Break

Join us to explore what strange and revolutionary artist, architect and ecologist Friedensreich Hundertwasser called the 5 Skins: Body, Clothes, Home, Community and World.

Taking inspiration from his colorful, wiggly and pattern-filled paintings and designs, as well as some other wild artists, we will explore each one of these ideas. Starting with our selves and working outward to the whole world we will reimagine what a body looks like and what it can do. We will ponder what powers our clothes might give us, and we'll make them! We will design and build a home - it might have legs, or a tree growing inside. And we will map out our communities and worlds as they are in our magical imaginations. In this class we will draw, build with recycled materials, and paint; letting patterns and colors run wild.
